When I first started learning 3D design from scratch, I faced lots of challenges especially a lack of information and the high cost of software. My budget couldn't cover expensive programs, so I ended up buying from cheaper sites like Software Butterfly, any similar experience?

Been there. I made everything possible through Blender though because it was free and surprisingly pretty good for what it is. You just need to learn about the UI. I tried discount sites like that but I don't recommend. It's not worth panicking every time thinking there's malware.

Just a heads up though, always verify the legitimacy of sites like software butterfly, coz ome places look legit but can come with risks like dodgy licenses or no support, open source options like Blender, which is totally free and surprisingly powerful work well. same thing @estes mentioned up there

Will look Blender up and try it. curious though, did you run into any issues with this? thanks!

Good chat! I totally understand the budget thing, Blender's been a lifesaver for lots of folks since it's free and pretty strong once you learn the interface. I'd be careful about sites like Software Butterfly though, mainly because of the license and support risks. Have you given Blender a shot yet? What do you think about the learning curve so far?

Building your skills on a foundation of legitimate, powerful software like Blender is a much better path than using a gray-market key that could be a ticking time bomb. It's the difference between building a career on rock vs sand.

Blender really saved me when I was broke and just starting out. It takes some patience to learn, but once it clicks, you're off to the races.

@smithereens I agree, Blender really does save the day when you're starting out on a budget. The learning curve can be frustrating, but the results are worth the patience. Just jumping in back here to ask @Starfire. How's it going now?
